On March 21st, the Madurai District Forest Office organizing a celebration for World Forest Day at the Interpretation Hall in their Forest Campus. The District Forest Officer, Thiru. T. Tarun Kumar, IFS, led the event, presided over by Srivilliputhur Megamalai Tiger Reserve’s Chief Conservator of Forest and Field Director, Smt. R. Padmawathe, IFS.

The celebration featured a special speech competition for registered school children. Following the stage presentations, the Field Director and District Forest Officer awarded prizes to the winning students.

Later, in a display of enthusiastic commitment, the school children participated in a tree-planting ceremony within the Madurai Forest Office premises, with Forest Officials present.
